SCT Standalone — use your own domain without WordPress or changing DNS
======================================================================

What this is
------------
A small PHP folder you upload to any PHP-enabled website (that is NOT WordPress).
Visitors who hit a short-link path on your domain are checked with Simple Click Tracker
and sent to the right destination. The rest of your site keeps working as usual.

You need
--------
- A PHP website with Apache and .htaccess support (typical shared hosting)
- Access to upload files (FTP, file manager, or similar)
- A Simple Click Tracker account
- A Connect API key from Account > Integrations
(type: "Connect (WordPress or standalone script)")

Install in plain steps
----------------------
1. Create a Connect API key in SCT and copy it (shown only once).
2. Unzip this package. You should have a folder named "sct".
3. Upload the "sct" folder into your site's public web root
(often public_html or www), so the path is:
     https://yoursite.com/sct/
4. Open in your browser:
     https://yoursite.com/sct/install.php
That creates config.php (if needed) and sets the Apache 404 rule.
5. Edit sct/config.php and paste your API key into the api_key line. Save.
6. In SCT, go to Domains and add your domain (hostname only), keep it Active,
then create a test link and open it.

Quick health check
------------------
Open https://yoursite.com/sct/ping — you should see a plain number.

When NOT to use this
--------------------
- WordPress site → use the SCT Connect plugin instead
- You want a dedicated short domain (go.yoursite.com) → point DNS at SCT instead
- Host uses nginx without .htaccess → ask your host for an equivalent 404 rewrite,
  or use DNS pointing
