Zapier
Connect SCT Pro to Zapier: keys, triggers, actions, and the manual-winner question.
Connect SCT Pro to Zapier so other apps can react when a link breaks, a split test picks a winner, or a click milestone is reached — and so a spreadsheet or form can create or update links without opening SCT Pro.
Zapier depends on your plan. If Integrations says your plan does not include Zapier, the connection will not work until that
option is on your plan.
Create a key and connect Zapier
- Open Account › Integrations and create a Zapier key. Copy it immediately; it is shown only once.
- In Zapier, add the SCT Pro app and paste the key. It starts with
zapier_. - Zapier tests the connection with your account name and email.
Editors cannot manage keys. Only the account owner (and team admins, same as other keys) can.
Triggers
- Broken Link Found
- A destination failed two daily checks in a row. Fields include the link, the broken URL, a plain-language reason, the status code, when it broke, and clicks in the last 24 hours. See Broken link monitoring. Example Zap: send a Slack message.
- Link Working Again
- A broken destination passed a later check.
- Split-Test Winner Picked
- An automatic winner (Auto-Winner or Conversion Race) always sends this event. If you pick a winner yourself, SCT Pro asks Send this winner to Zapier? only when you have an active split-winner Zap. Manual picks never send the optional email. Example Zap: add a row to Google Sheets.
- Click Milestone Reached
- You set the number and whether it is total or unique clicks. Each link fires once per Zap. Links already past that number when you turn the Zap on are marked as done and do not fire. Example Zap: email a sponsor at 1,000 clicks.
You can limit a Zap to one link. Leave the link field empty to watch every link.
Actions
- Create Link
- Makes a standard short link. Name and destination are required. Path is optional (one is generated if you leave it empty). Choose a domain when the account has more than one. Example Zap: a new row in Sheets creates a link.
- Update Link Destination
- Changes the destination of a standard link. Split tests and rotators have to be edited in SCT Pro. Use Find Link first if you know the path instead of the ID. Example Zap: a form submission updates a destination.
- Find Link
- Looks up a link by path and/or name so the next step can update it. Zapier can also Find or Create.
Manual winners
When you save a newly picked winner on a split test and you have a split-winner Zap, a dialog asks whether to send it. Changing or clearing a winner without picking a new one never sends.
Troubleshooting
- Plan does not include Zapier
- The Zap shows that message and existing Zaps are turned off. Turning the option back on does not revive old Zaps; turn them on again in Zapier.
- Revoked or missing key
- Zapier gets a 401. Create a new key on Integrations and reconnect. See I lost my API key.
- A milestone did not fire
- Links already past the number when you turned the Zap on are skipped on purpose. The milestone fires the next time a new link crosses it, or when you create a new Zap.
- A Zap was turned off
- After many failed deliveries (or a 410 from Zapier), SCT Pro turns that Zap off and emails you. Check the last status on Integrations.
